Description
Dr. Annie grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, where her love of science and dedication to helping others first took root through volunteer work and community involvement. With a strong interest in health and medicine, she earned her Bachelor of Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Alberta, originally pursuing a path toward conventional medicine.
However, Annie’s personal journey with chronic migraines led her to explore alternative options when conventional care fell short. Through this search, she discovered Total Health the Chinese Way by Esther Ting and Marianne Jas—a book that opened the door to the world of naturopathic medicine. It was here that everything clicked: a comprehensive, individualized approach to health that emphasized the body’s natural ability to heal.
Her passion for health and wellness had already been shaped by years of participating in sports, where she developed a deep appreciation for nutrition and performance. To gain hands-on experience, she worked in a private naturopathic clinic in Calgary and quickly fell in love with the holistic model of care. This solidified her decision to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. She moved to Tempe, Arizona to complete her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine).
During her studies, Annie volunteered with Naturopaths Without Borders and the Sports Medicine Club, offering free care to underserved communities in Rocky Point, Mexico, and supporting athletes at events through taping, adjustments, and soft tissue work. She holds certifications in prolotherapy, PRP injections, kinesiology taping (Level I), and medical aesthetics, with advanced training in hormone therapy and women’s health.
With a deep commitment to supporting women’s hormonal health, Annie developed The Symptom-Free Period System—a powerful online coaching program designed to help women naturally balance their hormones and experience pain-free, symptom-free menstrual cycles.
Dr. Annie is a licensed naturopathic physician with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), and an active member of both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCND). She also serves as an adjunct clinical supervisor at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (New Westminster campus), where she helps train the next generation of naturopathic doctors.
