Dr. Annie Savage is a naturopathic doctor in Vancouver offering systems-based care with a focus on women’s health, hormonal balance, and integrative medicine.

Dr. Annie grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, where an early love of science and a deep commitment to helping others took shape through community involvement and volunteer work. Drawn to health and medicine, she completed a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Nutrition at the University of Alberta, initially on a path toward conventional medicine.

It was her own experience with chronic migraines and severe menstrual symptoms — and the limitations she encountered within the conventional system — that shifted her trajectory. Searching for answers, she discovered Total Health: The Chinese Way by Esther Ting and Marianne Jas, a book that introduced her to a different way of understanding the body: one that viewed symptoms as meaningful signals, and healing as a collaborative, individualized process.

That philosophy resonated deeply.

Annie’s background in competitive sports had already shaped her appreciation for nutrition, performance, and the body’s capacity to adapt when properly supported. After working in a private naturopathic clinic in Calgary, she knew she had found the model of care she had been looking for. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona (formerly the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine).

During her training, Dr. Annie volunteered with Naturopaths Without Borders and the Sports Medicine Club, providing care to underserved communities in Rocky Point, Mexico, and supporting athletes through taping, adjustments, and soft tissue therapy. She holds certifications in prolotherapy, Trigger Point Injections, Joint PRP injections, kinesiology taping (Level I), acupuncture, and medical aesthetics (neuromodulators, dermal filler, Sculptra, Eclipse Micropen and Aesthetic PRP Injections, including hair regrowth), with advanced training in hormone therapy and women’s health.

At the core of Dr. Annie’s work is a systems-based approach to care. She works closely with patients to understand how gut health, inflammation, hormones, stress, sleep, and nervous system regulation intersect — particularly during key life transitions. Her clinical focus includes hormonal imbalances, painful or irregular cycles, perimenopause, unexplained symptoms, and conditions where patients have been told their labs are “normal,” yet they don’t feel well.

Out of this work, she developed The Symptom-Free Period System, an online educational program designed to help women understand and support their hormonal health in a sustainable, body-literate way.

Dr. Annie is a licensed naturopathic physician with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCND), and an adjunct clinical supervisor at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (New Westminster campus), where she helps train future naturopathic doctors.
